Where Alabama sits in KenPom, NET rankings ahead of SEC Tournament

Nate Oats’ Alabama Crimson Tide head into the 2026 SEC Tournament in Nashville with nine wins in their last 10 games.

Alabama (23-8 overall, 13-5 SEC) wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the year’s conference tournament after jumping out to a 22-point first-half lead over Auburn last Saturday at Coleman Coliseum. Labaron Philon and Aden Holloway scored 21 points apiece in a 96-84 win over the Tigers to close the regular season.

The Crimson Tide led by as many as 28 in the second half en route to their third straight win over Auburn. In the top 25 polls, Alabama rose one spot to No. 15 in both the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 this week.

The latest NCAA Tournament projections from ESPN, CBS Sports, and veteran analysts Jerry Palm and Andy Katz have the Tide as a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament with Selection Sunday only a few days away.

As for how the metrics reflected Alabama’s dominant win over Auburn, here’s a look at where the Crimson Tide land in the NET rankings and KenPom ratings ahead of the SEC Tournament.

Alabama is No. 17 in the NET rankings, the same spot as this time last week. The Crimson Tide had risen to No. 15 after their 71-69 win over the Tennessee Volunteers on Feb. 28 in Knoxville before a 98-88 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens.

Alabama has seven Quad 1 victories this season: against St. John’s, Illinois, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Auburn, Arkansas, and Tennessee. The Crimson Tide’s 90-83 victory over LSU in Baton Rouge on Feb. 21 was downgraded to a Quad 2 victory after LSU fell outside the top 75 in the NET rankings.

Alabama is now 9-1 against Quad 2 opponents after Saturday’s win over Auburn in Tuscaloosa.

Here’s a breakdown of the Tide’s résumé.

  • vs. Quad 1 opponents: 7-7

  • vs. Quad 2 opponents: 9-1

  • vs. Quad 3 opponents: 5-0

  • vs. Quad 4 opponents: 2-0

In the overall NET rankings, Alabama remains one spot below No. 16 Vanderbilt and is one spot ahead of No. 18 Arkansas.
