Mercedes has joined two of its Formula 1 rivals in dropping one-off liveries for this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix.
The third round of the 2026 season, which will be held at Suzuka, will be the first race of the campaign to feature one-off livery designs.
Following on from Racing Bulls and Haas, Mercedes has become the latest team to present a unique livery for the Japanese Grand Prix.
The two Mercedes W17s will sport an updated livery featuring a wolf pattern on the front wing.
Mercedes released digital renders of the livery design on social media under the tagline of ‘unleashing the beast’.

The Silver Arrows are aiming to make it three wins from three races in 2026 and continue a perfect start to the new season.
George Russell headed a one-two at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, before team-mate Andrea Kimi Antonelli reversed the order at the Chinese Grand Prix. Russell also claimed a win in the China sprint race.
Earlier on Tuesday, Haas unveiled a unique Godzilla-themed livery as part of a season-long tie-up with Japanese entertainment company Toho Co.
Drivers Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon were on hand to reveal the livery design on the VF-26 at an event in Tokyo.
Racing Bulls will also run its cars in a special livery, having presented a special ‘spring edition’ colour scheme for Japan.
The livery features more red than normally appears on the Racing Bulls.
