T20 success and global leagues
Payne has played 233 T20 matches and picked up an impressive 304 wickets at an average of around 21 and an economy rate under 8.10. Two years ago, he was the leading wicket-taker in the Vitality Blast with 33 scalps, helping Gloucestershire lift the title.
His recent form has been even better. In the 2025-26 Big Bash League with Perth Scorchers, he took 11 wickets in just 6 games at a superb average of 13.54 and economy of 6.47.
