Free agent options for Jaguars at WR after latest roster development

Free agent options for Jaguars at WR after latest roster development

The Jacksonville Jaguars missed out on signing wide receiver Jake Bobo. The Seattle Seahawks chose to match the Jaguars’ offer instead. So, with the wide receiver position on GM James Gladstone’s radar, who are the best available free agent options still available to the Jaguars?

With Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, and Travis Hunter at the top of the depth chart, the Jaguars are well-positioned at wideout. However, improved depth and competition on the back end of the depth chart are still needed. The other wideouts on the roster are Austin Trammell, Tim Jones, and Chandler Brayboy.

When it comes to potentially filling that role, the Jaguars’ pursuit of Bobo gave us some insight into what the team is looking for as they round out the receiver room. We went into greater detail here, but there appears to be a specific skill set Jacksonville is looking for on offense, not to mention some special teams help.

Also not to be overlooked, but the Jaguars are clearly looking for non-compensatory free agents in an effort to preserve the 2027 compensatory draft picks they are currently projected to receive with Devin Lloyd, Travis Etienne, and Greg Newsome signing elsewhere.

With help from Pro Football Focus’ free agency big board, here are three free agent options who could fit what the Jaguars are looking for.

Free agent options at wide receiver for the Jaguars after missing out on Jake Bobo

Tim Patrick: The Jaguars could re-sign Patrick, who spent the 2025 season with the team. Patrick finished the season catching 15-of-25 passes for 187 yards with three touchdowns. Beyond his production, Patrick is a good fit for Liam Coen’s offense, willing to do the dirty work in the run game and attack the middle and intermediate parts of the field.

KhaDarel Hodge: Listed at 6-2, 208 pounds, Hodge has that bigger frame that the Jaguars have coveted at wide receiver under Coen. He is also very experienced on special teams. Hodge has caught 67 passes over eight NFL seasons, totaling 1,026 yards with two touchdowns.

Allen Lazard: Lazard is also a bigger-bodied wideout and has ample experience on offense in his career, playing nearly 4,400 snaps. Lazard is a very willing blocker and has contributed on special teams as well.
