Jocelyn Camarillo issued an emotional public plea following Isis Sio’s hospitalization, posting two messages in the immediate aftermath of their bout as concern for the teenager intensified.
As World Boxing News reported, Sio remains in a medically induced coma after suffering a first-round knockout defeat to Camarillo.
Further details have since emerged around the circumstances leading into the contest, including confirmation that Sio had been knocked out just 50 days earlier before facing Camarillo, as outlined in a separate WBN report.
Immediate Aftermath
The bout, which ended in the opening round following a sickening series of blows, quickly turned from a routine contest into a medical emergency as Sio required urgent attention at ringside.
For Camarillo, the aftermath unfolded in stark contrast to the result inside the ring, with attention shifting entirely away from victory and toward Sio’s condition.
In her initial reaction, Camarillo wrote: “Lord Jesus, we come before You with faith and urgency, lifting up Isis into Your loving hands. Lord, You are the ultimate healer, the Great Physician, and we ask for Your divine touch over her body in Jesus mighty name amen.”
A short time later, Camarillo returned with a more urgent message, writing: “please please please please please please please pray for her,” as the seriousness of Sio’s condition became clearer.
The posts captured the tone in the immediate aftermath, with concern spreading quickly among those closest to the situation.
The situation has since drawn wider attention across the boxing community, with messages of support continuing to surface.
Sio, still only 19, remains in a critical condition as the boxing world awaits further updates.
