Itauma is 21 now, a high hopes UK heavyweight hero in the making who took a huge step up in August, blasting Dillian Whyte in less than two minutes. Franklin was a candidate for Next Great American Heavyweight until he hit his ceiling against Mr. Whyte in late 2022, then again against Anthony Joshua in his next fight. He scuffed around in regional shows for a while, then popped up on the Canelo-Crawford undercard to take away Ivan Dychko’s “0” and maybe start working himself back in the second tranche of the division. Amazon Prime PPV, 8:00 pm ET, Sebastian Fundora vs Keith Thurman. From Las Vegas, Nevada, for Fundora’s WBC super welterweight title. This fight was originally scheduled for October of last year, but delayed when Fundora hurt his hand two weeks before fight night. Thurman was a brilliant, exciting welterweight champion ten years ago, before chronic hand injuries derailed his career. His only pro blemish was a split decision loss to Manny Pacquiao back in 2019, and he’s fought just twice since then, most recently a move up to 154 lbs. against Brock Jarvis last year. The undercard is a sad indictment of what remains of PBC in 2026, so prepare to hear Mauro Ranallo try to fake a convincing orgasm over Yoenli Hernandez and Yoenis Tellez dispatching Terrell Gausha and Brian Mendoza, respectively.
