Rajasthan Royals (RR) young star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is ready to go for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL).
The IPL franchise posted a ‘hype’ video in which Vaibhav can be seen channelising his inner ‘Dhurandhar’ as the youngster crosses out Under-19 World Cup before jotting down IPL trophy – akin to the main character of the movie.

Vaibhav had named the Ranveer Singh starrer as his favourite film.
Already an Under-19 World Cup winner at 14, the batting prodigy wants to win the IPL title for RR in the upcoming season.
Sooryavanshi took the IPL 2025 by storm by becoming the tournament’s youngest centurion. Earlier this year, his 80-ball 175-run knock in the final against England propelled India to a record-extending sixth U-19 World Cup title in Harare.
He is now focused on the IPL.
“The goal this IPL season is to win the trophy for the team, as it is a very important thing. I want to do well, and my performance will help the whole team. This is my goal — to contribute to RR’s wins and win the trophy for the franchise,” Sooryavanshi had told broadcaster Star Sports on the sidelines of the BCCI Naman Awards on Sunday.
Sooryavanshi became the youngest player to sign an IPL contract when Rajasthan Royals picked him up at the age of 13 in 2024 for Rs 1.1 crore.
At the BCCI Annual Awards, Sooryavanshi was also asked if he remembered his first conversation with Dravid and then-captain Samson before making his IPL debut.
As Sooryavanshi began to speak, Samson interjected and recounted the conversation between Dravid and Sooryavanshi. Samson said, “I was actually in a meeting at the time. Rahul Sir called him into the room and told me, ‘Sanju, we need to talk to him. He’s just a young kid; we need to guide him on how to go about things.’ So Rahul Sir asked him, ‘Vaibhav, what’s the plan?’ Vaibhav replied, ‘Kuch nahi sir, hum to khelenge. ( (Nothing special, Sir. I’ll just play). Then he asked ‘What is your game plan?’ and Vaibhav was like ‘Agar hume agar pehla mila to hum pehla hi uda denge (If I get the first ball, I’m just going to smash it), and I was like yeh alag video game hi khel raha hai (He is playing a completely different video game).”
He also named the one IPL record he wants to break.
“Sir wahi 175 ka record todne ka (Sir, wants to break the 175-run record),” Vaibhav said.
