Rohit Sharma’s video of jogging in Maldives goes viral
Rohit Sharma recently enjoyed a family vacation in the Maldives, capturing the attention of social media users with his videos. The former Indian captain is gearing up to return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, representing the Mumbai Indians. Before diving back into the hectic schedule, he chose to relax with his family, sharing numerous pictures on his official social media accounts.
A particular video has captivated his fans, showing Rohit jogging shirtless on the beach. Last year, he faced body shaming and criticism for his fitness on social media. Determined to change, Rohit worked diligently under the guidance of his friend and former cricketer, Abhishek Nayar, to get back in shape.
Rohit successfully shed over 10 kilograms in the past six months, maintaining his new physique. An earlier solo shirtless picture of him standing in clear blue waters also created quite a buzz on social media.
With the 2027 World Cup on the horizon and Rohit Sharma, along with Virat Kohli leading India’s ODI cricket, the Indian team is gearing up to play an increased number of 50-over matches, according to The Indian Express.
Reports indicate that several cricket boards have approached the BCCI over the last two months to add more ODIs to their home series against India. The Indian board seems to have agreed to these requests.
Following a series of white-ball tournaments that began after the Test series against South Africa, India is preparing for a packed schedule post-IPL.
After the IPL concludes, India will host Afghanistan for a Test match and three ODIs, followed by a tour to the UK to play England in three ODIs and five T20Is. Additionally, India might also face Ireland during this tour.
A key decision to be made is whether the matches against Ireland will take place in Ireland or Southampton. Cricket Ireland and BCCI are reportedly in the final stages of discussions to determine the schedule, which may include three T20Is or three ODIs, either at the tour’s beginning in July or at its end.
