Salas Boxing Academy is once again fully operational months after a drunk driver smashed a car into the world-famous Las Vegas gym, forcing a temporary shutdown and extensive repairs.
World Boxing News was the first outlet to report the incident in September when a vehicle crashed through the building overnight, leaving the respected training facility unable to operate while the damage was assessed.
The accident disrupted training schedules and temporarily closed one of Las Vegas’ best-known boxing gyms. Thankfully, nobody inside the building was injured.
Several months later, the picture is far brighter.
Salas Boxing Academy is now fully active again and packed with fighters working under the guidance of legendary trainer Ismael Salas.
The gym has long been home to champions, contenders, and rising prospects preparing for major fights in the city. Despite the disruption caused by the crash, Salas and his team rebuilt and brought the facility back to full operation.
Ismael Salas Legacy
The recovery reflects the same resilience that has defined Salas throughout his career in the sport.
Born in Cuba, Salas built his reputation through the famed Cuban amateur system before becoming one of boxing’s most respected professional trainers.
Over the years, he has worked with numerous world champions and elite fighters, earning a reputation for technical instruction and disciplined preparation.
His Las Vegas academy has become a destination for fighters from across the sport, with many traveling in to train under his guidance.
Now fully restored after the September crash, the gym is once again buzzing with activity as Salas continues building the next generation of boxing talent and adding to his legacy.
